Program Description
The Massage Therapy Diploma Program is a comprehensive, full-time, 88-week, 2,250-hour instructor-led training program delivered in a hybrid format. Theory instruction is provided through scheduled, synchronous online classes led by qualified instructors, while all practical components—including simulation laboratories and clinical training—are delivered in person under direct supervision. This delivery model ensures consistent instructional quality, structured learning, and the progressive development of safe, entry-to-practice competencies.
Professional practice competencies—including communication, professionalism, ethical standards, integrity, and the therapeutic relationship—are fully embedded throughout the curriculum. Knowledge and skills related to assessment and treatment, including treatment principles, massage techniques, therapeutic exercise, and thermal applications, are taught, developed, and progressively enhanced through academic instruction, simulated learning activities, and supervised clinical practice.
The curriculum also includes foundational health sciences, including anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology, to ensure that graduates are competent health care professionals prepared to collaborate effectively with other health care providers.
Alignment with Massage Therapy Standards
The Massage Therapy Diploma Program is aligned with the Inter-Jurisdictional Practice Competencies and Performance Indicators for Massage Therapists at Entry-to-Practice and complies with the regulatory and legislative requirements of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO), including the Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice, Health Care Consent Act, Regulated Health Professions Act, and Massage Therapy Act. The program also meets the educational requirements established by the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities for private career colleges.
