Program Description
This Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography/Ultrasound Diploma program lets students develop theoretical and clinical proficiency in the fields of Abdomen and Small Parts, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Abdomen Vascular, Minor Musculoskeletal, and Pediatric Sonography, preparing them for a successful career as a Sonographer in Canada.
Admission Requirements
- Applicants must hold an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with biology and mathematics courses or an equivalent qualification.
- Preference may be given to applicants with a two-year or higher allied healthcare credential in a patient-care-related field.
Additional Requirements
- A criminal record check must be provided within 120 days of starting the program.
- Required medical documentation, such as a TB test and Hepatitis B immunization records, must be provided within 120 days of starting the program.
- Students must complete First Aid and CPR Level HCP for healthcare providers before beginning their clinical placement.
32-Week Clinical Practicum
Students complete a 32-week clinical practicum in approved clinical settings to gain supervised, real-world sonography experience. The practicum helps students apply classroom knowledge in clinical settings and build practical skills for future employment in diagnostic medical sonography.
