Why it is the best time to Study Personal Support Worker Program

The Ontario Government has shown its extensive support to Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and Direct Support Workers. Firstly, the temporary wage for the workers working in Long-term care, home and community care is increased by $3/Hour. On the other hand, the temporary wage for workers working in public hospitals has been increased by $2/Hour.

This shows how Personal Support Workers (PSWs) are playing a critical role in this pandemic as they always stood high in helping people and making our community strong. The Ontario Government did recognize that and supported them by giving them a pay hike. To Help increase more Personal Support Workers and to attract newly Graduated ones, The Ministry of Health and Ministry of Long-Term Care has launched a Personal Support Worker Return of Service (PSW ROS) Initiative. This initiative will provide recent Personal Support Workers (PSWs) graduates a $5000 incentive in-exchange for a 6 month commitment in an eligible Long Term Care or Home and Community Care agency. Moreover, this initiative will likely to support Personal Support Workers (PSWs) training in Ontario and will attract new workers to work in this great field.
